A Day Out With Thomas

Thomas came to the Railroad Mueseum this month in Golden. The boys LOVE Thomas so we could not miss it! They had so much fun seeing the "real" Thomas and Sir Topham Hat! THey got Thomas tatoos, a Thomas balloon, shirt, toothbrush......I don't think there is much we don't have of Thomas out our house.

We were long overdue for getting pictures taken of the kids.....here is one for now, I will post more later! This was a very challenging photo session as the boys don't sit still for a split second!

while back for jackie's wedding, i took some time to see some dear friends' i had not seen in years. my good friend marcella has a daughter, abigail that is just adorable! i have never seen her , except in pictures and marcella had not seen brittany since she was just a baby. it was so much fun to get our girl's together.....abigail even though she is 4, seems more like brittany's age! they were so cute together, holding hands and playing together. we decided to take them to libby lu for a fun girls day of makeovers and dancing to hannah montana. they had so much fun......until 2 am when they both decided sleeping with 50 bobby pins in their hair was not worth salvaging the hairstyle!

it was so much fun watching our girl's play! we went to cracker barrel....which was on my list of priorities when i visited! it was so nice to finally visit with marcella but it just didn't seem like enough time. we definitely need to visit each other more often.

a trip long overdue

it was so nice to finally see jackie and tyler after how many years now? brittany and i went to ohio for jackie and jon's wedding. we had a chance to meet her and tyler for lunch a few days before the wedding and catch up! jackie is an amazing woman, she truly has been blessed over the years. she has a wonderful husband and everything going for her right now, i could not be happier for her. tyler is driving now......wow.....it truly seems like just a few years ago that i was babysitting him when he was a baby. i will have to post some pictures of jackie's wedding. it was just beautiful.

the boys had two very different initial reactions to what was in their easter baskets this year. asher was obsessed with the thomas the train that was in his basket and christopher tore into the m&m's and shoved almost all of them in his mouth one by one. when asher finally decided to check out something other than the battery operated thomas, he started shoving handfuls of m&m's in his mouth, as fast as he could. mind you, this was 7:30 a.m.

brotherly love?

poor christopher. he just wants to help, be hugged and kissed....and do everything his brother does. problem is, asher is not usually as willing to recieve the help, that christopher wants to give. christopher has to try everything that asher does. even though i am positive he would never think to try 99% of the things on his own, he will do whatever it is, just because asher does. funny how their personalities have been the same since i was pregnant with them. christopher hardly ever moved, asher was kicking and turning constantly.

asher will lay on christopher, bite him, hit him over the head with toys. and if christopher takes the toy asher has or wants......you better believe asher will get it. he will run after him and tackle him to the floor for it. as you can imagine, asher spends a good portion of his day in time out's.

i am not ready!

brittany lost the second of her two front teeth last week. i am not ready for this! first the boys turn two, then brittany loses her second top tooth! it just changes children so much when they get those big permanent teeth! they no longer look like little girl's/boys any more. it really is so bittersweet that my children are growing up so fast! can i just press rewind?

brittany's iraq presentation

brittany was so excited to learn about iraq and make her poster. she worked very hard on it and practiced over and over. she is a bit hard to hear but she did a great job! unfortunately i had to bring the boys with me that day, so there were a few interruptions during the presentation!

family day

it was really nice to be able to spend family day with mark and learn a little more about what exactly his unit does. the chaplain made it fun for the kids, while all everyone was in formation, he gave the children the task of going out and finding their dad's or loved ones and pulling them to the side. b loved it and it was just a fun ( but chilly) day after all!

row, row, row your boat

we decided to rent a boat and go out along the canal in port hueneme. we stopped and got lunch and just relaxed for a few hours. it was a fun way to spend our last afternoon in california!

now i know my abc's

the boys are really starting to repeat so much lately! leave it to brittany to get them practicing!

and the hula hooping world record goes to.....

so miss b recently had a sock hop at her school. her school is about 30 minutes from our home and grandma and grandpa were watching the boys, so i thought leaving about half an hour before the sock hop ended would be a wise idea. the next day i picked up b from school and she says to me with attitude, " you made me leave last night and i missed the hula hooping and jump roping contest!" now i have to admit i did feel a bit bad because b is pretty good at both of the above and probably did have a good chance of winning. who knew?! sigh. there is always next year, right????

please don't call the aspca.....

all i have to say is it is a good thing starbucks is a large cat. i am suprised the cat lives day to day as this is not uncommon to see in our home. starbucks is such a tolerant cat, not sure that is a good quality for her to have living with our boys!

dinnertime.....take 2

those of you who have not seen video number one at dinner, please go back and find it in my posts so you can appreciate this one! i have to admit, since enforcing time outs when the food starts flying, has drastically improved our ambience at the dinner table! not to mention, lunch and breakfast! phew, that was a long and painful stage. please pray for me that this continues to work. or my next video might be of me admitting myself to the local psychiatric facility.

The boys have recently learned to do ring a round the rosie and it is just adorable! they also have this strange thing about wearing their hats. probably because it is freezing here all of the time...they are so used to wearing them out so much, they feel like they should have them on inside too i guess! lyrics, courtesy of brittany, of course!
