Menu Planning Monday

I recently found this blog on the web and have been so impressed with the organized women who participate in a cyber "Menu Planning Monday"! I will make no promises of participating every week, but will give it a try when the sun and moon align(literally) and I actually have my menu together Sunday night. So here it is:

Monday : Crockpot Chicken Cacciatore, salad and bread
Tuesday: Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce, angel hair pasta, steamed green beans
Wednesday: Breakfast Tacos!
Thursday: Cheese Tortellini in Light Broth, parmasean crisps
Friday: Italian Chicken Soup
Saturday: Tex-Mex Nachos
Sunday: Greek-Style Burgers with Feta Aioli

A New Camera

Wow, a picture of me with all three of my children. Who would have ever thought! I told hubby we need to make more of an effort to get US in the pictures with the kids! That means videos too. Our camera, probably dropped one too many times, finally took it's last pictures. After a month of withdrawal from the camera, here is one of the first pictures with our brand new one. I feel like I missed out on a chapter of our lives being without it and am frantically trying to make up for lost time! As soon as my dear husband shows me how to get the pics onto the computer using the new program, I will get them on here!

St. Patty's Day Parade

The Las Vegas Mothers of Mulitples actually have a spot in the annual Henderson St. Patty's Day Parade. We thought we would join in!

I truly take my hat off to mom's of triplets and quads. I thought running errands was hard with two! The funny thing is, those mom's seemed more relaxed than I am most days!

A LONG day....somehow we managed to be the last one's in the parade...not a fun wait with one set of quads, four sets of triplets and at least a dozen twins!

Still Waiting for our Nanny

Since the boys have become not only mobile but climbers, life has once again, taken a drastic turn for the worse for mom. Shouldn't there be some sort of law, just like for childcare providers, that states a ratio of 1:3, mom to child, is just not legal?! Or at least when twins are involved? Just keeping up with these boys is more tiring than I ever was running around in lead, with 6 cases, back to back in the Cath Lab!

Don't get me wrong, I love my children more than I can describe. It is just that, we are officially housebound now, taking these guys anywhere is literally impossible for one person. I have given up trying to run errands or heaven forbid, shop. I went to a My Gym Class with Kim and Miss S, when we went back home in February. I thought this is exactly what the boys need! Once a week, you can find me trying to chase these two, in opposite directions in their Waddlers Class! Asher is up the stairs to the ball pit and in with a graceful belly flop before I can turn around! Christopher thinks the trampoline is his spot and taking turns is not coming easily for him. They absolutely LOVE this class!

Awards, Good Friends and Valentines Dances....oh my!

So, B is well on her way to high school. When I heard there was a Valentines Dance, I honestly thought it was for the older grades. Well, I was wrong. I was relieved to find out no date was required....heehee. The dance was fun for everyone but by the end B was ready to go home because the DJ, yes you read that right, the DJ, was playing the music too loud. I am just praying ten years from now, she will feel the same way!

Miss B will really miss the friends she has made when we move. She is ready to get back to Colorado just as much as we are, however it has not hit her that she will be leaving her dear friends behind. She loves her school and just got her second award for all 'A's at the last award ceremony! Way to go B!

Life as we know it in Vegas

So back to life here in Vegas, now that the holidays are officially over. The American Girls have officially taken over our house, (second to the Breyer horses of course), soccer is in full swing and now BOTH of the boys are running everywhere. Asher of course beat Christopher to walking but he mastered over Christmas and these boys are everywhere! Thank goodness for the gates and every other childproofing item we own......I used to laugh at the things we now have installed everywhere in our home!
Six more months and we will be back in Colorado!! I have to say, as much as I dislike this town, there are strangely things I have learned to love. In N Out Burger is probably number one. Ok, so, I never understood what the big deal was about it....now I think about it daily. Oh, well....we get Chick-Fil-A back! What I will probably miss more than In N Out is the weather here. I honestly love the warm temperatures all year round. The summers are nothing but brutal but the rest of the year is so pleasant. I am not a fan of winter clothes, bundling up the kids or shoveling the driveway! I like winter weather for Christmas day and skiing trips but other than that I could leave it. The fact that Las Vegas has been voted the most dangerous city in the country to live in, for the sixth year in a row....Let It Snow!!!!!!!!!

Blizzard of 2006

hanging out with grandpa

a long awaited reunion

help!

c'mon mac!
too deep for sledding?

We were all packed and ready to head to the airport.......yes we were actually going to attempt to fly as a family of five for the first time. We knew the blizzard was coming but had no doubt we would make it in before it got bad. Big deal, we made it through the last blizzard! I checked our flight one last time and...what do you know....we weren't going anywhere. So, hubby heads to work and we rescheduled our flight for the next day. Of course, several feet of snow had now fallen and every major highway leading anywhere was closed...not to mention the airport.

Santa was planning on bringing ALL his presents to Colorado, so we knew we were going one way or another! As soon as conditions improved barely enough to open the major highways, we packed up the Tahoe and we were now on a roadtrip, home for the holidays! The drive through the night was not bad. Strangely enough, the mountains hardly got any snow, so it was smooth sailing for most of the drive. The kiddos snoozed....while daddy and mommy stayed awake drinking energy drinks and Starbucks doubleshots (which are now my favorite)! It was absolutely amazing to see dozens and dozens of cars, completely stranded and submerged in snow, so that only the side mirrors were peeking out.

To our surprise, blizzard number two hit a few days after we arrived. Needless to say we were ready to be snowed INTO Colorado, not OUT of Colorado, so this was fine with us! We had a wonderful time, seeing family, friends and most importantly we had a white Christmas. We cannot wait to come home for good. It was nice to actually be able to see our new home and can't wait to FINALLY, move in!
