HALLOWEEN FUN!

Halloween started off great with a party and parade at Miss B's school. She decided to be a cat for that party and Dorothy for trick or treating that night! The party went great, except that mom tried to be creative and make whiskers for her costume, since there was no face painting allowed at school. I superglued some sparkly silver pipe cleaners to pieces of heavy duty adhesive velcro we had...which I had cut out in circles. Well, when B put them on, the fumes from the superglue made her eyes water and her throat burn, where is Martha Stewart when you need her?

A bunch of parents at her school volunteered to decorate their cars and hand out candy at the Halloween parade through the parking lot. It was great...the cars were amazing and the kids loved it!

Mark came home early to help get the clan out for trick or treating, the boys, were not so thrilled about being a bat and a chicken. They kept their "hats" on but reluctantly! Our neighborhood here in Vegas is not very big, just one big block around, which was fine with me. B got enough candy between trick or treating at school and our neighborhood to last a good 6 months! B rushed home to answer the door for trick or treaters and the boys enjoyed checking out her candy!

Pumpkin Patch?

Well, sort of. Here in Las Vegas, I have realized this year, pumpkin patches do not exist here. The parking lot set up with the bounce houses for the children, is about as close as you can get in this city. So we moved a straw bale and some pumpkins out in our front yard and that is the extent of a pumpkin patch picture this year!

The boys thought eating the straw was kind of fun........but in the end they realized it was not one of their favorites! Asher now has four teeth on the top and two more are coming in on the bottom, so soon he will have eight teeth to chomp on that straw with! Christopher is sticking to four teeth right now, no sign of anything else popping through yet.

Prissy Poofs

Boy, do these make me wish Miss B was a "girly girl" some days. ( Of course, I had to buy two for her anyway and she actually likes them! ) They make all kinds of "poofs" for little girls....anything you can imagine, she makes it! Not to mention the halloween costumes! They even make special birthday, Christmas and even "teeny poofs" for babies. A friend of B's bought the pink one with the boa, for her for her birthday and she put it on for a picture but other than that, her girly girlfriends come over and wear it....I practically have to peel it off of them when they leave!
So any of you who are stuck for an original halloween costume this year, or a dressy alternative for the Christmas Program......look no further!! These are darling, and a great gift too! Now why couldn't I think of something like that?

Cuter Than a Ducks Butt

My new favorite baby item of the month! Cuter Than a Ducks Butt cart covers are the best. I have never been one of those germ frightened mothers...being the full time working mom, I had other things to worry about! Now that the places I frequent are limited to Target, Costco and the occasional dinner out with the family, I have been noticing how much the boys like to keep their mouth planted aroun the metal shopping cart bar or teeth on the side of the highchair. I swore I would never buy anything like this but it is the best $$ spent...besides the bumbo of course! What is great is one cart cover is a double and is also a highchair cover for restaurants. For that reason we needed two....which wasn't hard for me to have to pick out!

There are many different fabrics to choose from and they are so easy to attach to the shopping cart and highchair. www.cuterthanaducksbutt.com

The best part about this is the owner of Cuter Than a Ducks Butt is going to put the boys on the website, that is, if I can manage to remember my camera to snap a pic of them while we are using the cover!

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY B!

The day has finally come! I think Miss B has been asking when she is going to turn 6, since her 5th birthday. It came too fast for me, with kindegarten starting several weeks before, we are definitely in full swing. The birthday theme was equestrian, of course, at the gymnastics studio for the third year! I have to say, the gymnastics parties are a blast! The kids have the best time and at least several of B's friend's from the party, always end up having gymnastics parties as well after, which B is more than happy to attend!
Racing across the foam pit wore the girls out....nobody was too tired for cake, of course. Miss Socialite, had a turnout of 12 girls for the party and enough presents this year to call it Christmas. ( yes, I did manage to sneak a few into the closet for a "boring" day at home, or Christmas!)

One of Miss B's gifts from us was tickets to The World Famous Lippazanner show, here at the Oreleans Arena. We all had a great time, what skilled, disciplined horses/riders. It was an amazing, beautiful show. It was a quiet Sunday night when we went...we even had front row seats, on the floor! Brittany loved being so close to the horses and we left with the Breyer Lippazzaner horse, which is the new favorite of the week!

choo...choo

The boys and B enjoyed our Train Ride at the Nevada State Railroad in Boulder City, over Labor day weekend! The train took us on a short, 45 minute ride, which we all enjoyed. Of course the view was mostly desert....it was fun just to get out with the family for part of the day.

On the Move!

There is nothing stopping these two! They are crawling everywhere, pulling up on everything, not to mention putting everything they shouldn't have, in their mouth. Vacumming is becoming a twice a day chore for me! They "pick" on each other now! Asher grabs a handful of Christophers hair and yanks him around and they both grab each others pacifier and toys from each other! Running errands is virtually impossible with these two, although we do manage to make it to Target once a week! Everyone asks me, "How do you do it?" It really becomes your routine like anything else but believe me, I do wonder myself somedays!

Asher is a whopping 22 1/2 lbs now. He has his two lower teeth and one upper, he loves to eat and manages to eat his Gerber wheel puffs as fast as I could, chewing! He LOVES to eat and can't be fed fast enough! He does not like to wait for Christopher to take a bite....a continuous flow of sweet potatoes or avocado would be preferable to him! Grandma Judy was just in town and bought the boys this walker/ride on toy and Asher loves it! I am guessing it won't take another week or two before he is running around the house with it!

Christopher is now a pound behind Asher at 21 1/2 lbs. He is not quite as demanding as his brother, he waits patiently for his dinner and doesn't mind when his brother gets demanding and wants to be fed first! He will just sit and watch quietly in his highchair. He has not let Asher beat him in the tooth department, with his fourth tooth, his second top, coming in fast, he is happy to be first at some thing! His hair is also growing much faster than Ashers, the first haircut is not too far off, Daddy has already been talking about trying the clippers out!

No more cast!

As you can see, Miss B had her cast taken off on Thursday! As much as she liked to show it off, she was pretty excited to get it off. We saved it of course...to the "special box" it will go! It never kept her from doing much of anything! We are trying to remind her that she needs to take it easy, her bone is still only at about 70% of it's normal strength. Those of you who know B, know that is easier said than done!
It was really sweet, her friends were so nice to not ride their bikes or scooters since B couldn't and were more than happy to help her out when she couldn't use her arm. She and her best buddy Tayler are inseperable....we are 5 going on 15 lately. The things these girls know at 5, I am positive I didn't know until I was in Jr High School! Poor dad just shakes his head!

Teeth, teeth and more teeth...

Christopher finally got tired of Asher being the first one to do everything! His first two bottom teeth popped through several weeks ago. Just this past week Christopher has been very grumpy...much to our suprise, his top tooth (OUCH, it is a big one!) is coming in now! His favorite thing to teeth on are the teething cookies....what a mess!

Asher couldn't let his brother get too far ahead...his bottom teeth popped through just a few
days after Christophers! We still have yet to see anything on the top....I am sure it won't be too long. He loves the teething cookies as well...or just anything that has to do with food! The actual "teething toys" that you put in the freezer are not his, or Christophers favorite, suprisingly; probably because they can't really eat it!

A Purple Cast

With it being so hot here, many late evenings are spent at the park. Right after the big fishing trip in Bishop and tennis camp wrapping up, Miss B broke her arm! She fell off the monkey bars as she was flying across and landed flat on her back. She is so fast, I am suprised she has not broken anything prior to this! Even through the tears, she told us she hoped she could have a cast! I think this experience was not as traumatic as I expected, as it has not slowed her down one bit! In addition to the "excitement" of the cast, school started this week. Brittany has already made some new friends and she has even been enjoying homework! Soccer starts up this week, as well as a trip back to the doctor to see if the cast is ready to come off! B has mixed feelings, she wants it to come off so she can play goalie and ride her bike, however she is very fond of her purple cast.....she says she wants yellow next time. I am just praying that "next time" never comes!

Month of milestones!

This last month has been full of milestones for the boys! Just a few weeks ago, Asher started sitting, followed by Christopher a week later! Asher was rocking back and forth on his hands and knees the week before, a week later doing the "army crawl" across the living room. It didn't take long for him to learn how to pull up on everything, I can't keep up! Christopher has been taking his time, he seems to want to be able to "perfect" his crawling before he actually does it. He will be on his hands and knees, slowly lift one hand, set it down, move his back leg foward...you get the point. He concentrates so hard...today he was "kneeling" with his hands on the ledge, trying to pull himself up...I think since Asher leaves him behind now, he is determined to catch up! So, since I have trouble keeping up with these two extremely curious boys, we had a professional babyproofer come in to give us some tips and install some gates on the stairs. Daddy's job this weekend was to install the cabinet locks throughout the house! Asher was more than willing to help Daddy out!

because we love you...

Because Asher, Christopher and Brittany love all of you so much --- and we are, admittedly, horrible at keeping everyone up to date on what's going on in the Schultz house.......welcome to our new Blog! When mommy has time between feeding, changing, cleaning, ...oh and running Miss B to soccer, tennis and school....I will try to keep you updated on the latest news around here, for those of you who want to know (and try to convince daddy to post as well!)
